Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. On both trips the fishing is pretty much the same as it has been. We are catching fish in Sandy Hook and Raritan Bays. The better the drifting conditions the more action we have. Most of fish are shorts but there are some keepers mixed in. You can take a look at the gallery and see some of the keepers from today. We had a bit of a breeze to start the morning but when the wind died down it got for a while. The breeze picked up at the end of the morning trip and it cooled a bit. On the afternoon trip we had a cool breeze and it was comfortable then the morning. We are half day fishing for fluke everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). I’m sure it is a lot cooler on the water then inland so come make a trip and catch some fish. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands is centrally located at the shore, in the middle of the state. Easy access for customers from NY, PA, Northern and Southern NJ.”
Picked some fish in the AM on the last of the outgoing, mostly shorts.
Tried several area’s waiting for the change thinking the bite would get better…..never really did and ended the day with a couple handful of keepers. Jeff had decent action working hard in the bow landing 14 shorts and Joe took the pool with a nice 4 pound fish. Back at it tomorrow.
WE ARE BOOKED FOR THIS COMING SATURDAY.

CHARTERED SUN 7/15 AM TRIP OPEN 1:30 PM TRIP
Sun left the dock with another nice group of anglers on a beautiful day. Fishing was picky with very little drift but those who kept working all day were rewarded. Kat and Kieran had 2 nice fluke, Kat took the pool. The afternoon was slow for most aboard except for young Ave who landed 2 keepers including the pool fish. Great job Ava! Another good group on Monday and started with decent conditions and picked a few keepers, then the drift died and so did the fishing. All in all, a tough morning. Light crowd on the afternoon trip, but the drift was better and so was the fishing. Paul led the way with his limit of nice fluke, Tom and Sue had 3 nice fluke between them and Tom took the pool with a hefty 6 pounder. Left the dock Tues morning with another good group and good start to the trip with 2 fish over 6.5 lbs. boated on the first 2 drifts. Slugged away all morning until we lost the drift and managed to put a good catch together by then. The afternoon trip was a pick throughout, not lights out fishing, but caught a couple keepers each drift. Jay took the PM pool with 4.5 pound fluke

After a few slow days we looked at the forecast for today and said we would fish a new area. Well we had an early tide change and we knew we only had a short window to find the Fluke. To make a long story short, they were right where we figured and it was game on until the current picked up and we had to leave. We told everyone we would get another shot at the end of the tide and we sure did.
We had very good action with limit catches and Dave Woodson from Dover, NJ is our new Monthly Pool leader with a 5 -pound 12-ounce Fluke. We were the first to find the Fluke, but we know there will be plenty of followers to cash in on our scouting.
We will get an extra hour on Thursday but when it is over it will be over. Tomorrow is the perfect day to sail at 7:00 AM, which is what we do! When we worked for Freddy Coles of the FREDDY C, he taught us that if you stop the boat and the fish are biting you should have been there earlier.
Bring your heavy gear plus your regular stuff

JUNE 27, 2018
WE HAD QUITE A BIT OF WIND FROM THE SOUTH, WHICH MADE CONDITIONS TOUGH TODAY. WE STILL HAD SEVERAL PEOPLE GET THEIR LIMITS AND WE HAD A GOOD AMOUT OF SHORT ACTION. WE WERE LIMITED TO THE AREAS TO FISH DUE TO THE SPEED OF THE DRIFT. OVERALL WE DID MANAGE TO SCRAPE TOGETHER A NICE CATCH. THE WEATHER DOES NOT LOOK GOOD FOR TOMORROW AND WE HAVE DECIDED TO TAKE A PASS. WE WILL BE RIGHT BACK AT IT ON FRIDAY AT 7AM. THE WILL DEPART AT 6AM ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY.
7/2/18. Fishing is getting a little better each day. Some guys getting their limits early, while it took others a little more time. There was better life today with more shorts and we are seeing more fish in that3 to 6 lb range, which is generally is a good sign. Our 6am departure is definitely helping, so we will stay with 6am thru the weekend. The spinner rod and gulp is becoming a huge game changer please bring it.

We had a great group of people out today, with a good number of them being from the WRAT radio station and the fish cooperated with them.
Not much was going on with the BLUES, so we stuck with the bottom fishing and SEA BASS fishing was EXCELLENT, we also had several keeper FLUKE along with some shorts. We were able to pick at some LING on several of our stops. All in all a very good day with a lot of happy customers!

SEA BASS REPORT
Captain Denis reported good SEA BASS fishing on the Friday Marathon Trip. There were limits almost all around the boat with a few Ling mixed in. Our next daily Open Boat SEA BASS Trip is the FRIDAY MORNING MARATHON at 6:30 AM and the Saturday and Sunday morning trips at 7:30 AM.
We had very good SEA BASS and LING fishing on our Saturday trip with many Sea Bass limits and Ling catches ranging from 5-25 per person. Joe Armelliao won the pool with a 3-pound Sea Bass.
Our first LING MARATHON Trip was just so-so. We tried a number of spots with limited success. Our last stop produced Ling and Sea Bass in decent numbers and was good for us again on the Saturday trip. Cliff Calkins won the pool with a 6-pound Cod. Our next LING MARATHON trip is 6:30 AM Thursday morning June 14.

The action for fluke on our 1/2 day trips has been slower the last few days. Some good sized fluke and sea bass are coming over the rails but not like it was last week. Saturday morning’s seas were rough. We had some faster action in closer to the beach but there were a lot of throw back sized to get a few keepers. Spearing and squid combo for bait have been doing the trick.
Our Nite Wreckin trips continue to do well with mixed sized ling up to 3 lbs. Best to make sure that your hook hangs below your sinker for best results.
The Gambler’s “Shark in the Dark” trip this past Sunday resulted in a very big, hard fighting sand-tiger shark that took a good 40 minutes to get to boatside. Many got a turn to fight it and take pictures and it was released to fight again. Exciting fun!
Weather looks good for the rest of this week and weekend. Hope to see you aboard.

When the conditions were right, we picked at some decent size Fluke. We had a large ground swell here left over from Saturday which did not help. This morning, we saw an improvement with some Fluke and Sea Bass coming up. Anglers bouncing around gulps and buck tails had the majority of the bites. It can only get better! It looks like a good week weather wise to fish! We will be giving it our best tomorrow!
Bluefishing was tough again for us over the weekend HOWEVER, it sounds like there are some fish down to the south of us a ways which means they will hopefully come up this way. We will be giving it our best this weekend. Since the fishing was slow over the weekend, we anchored over some rocks and wrecks and caught the Ling well!
Stop by our Facebook page and check out a few photos from this mornings trip and Sunday afternoon!

SEA STAR III
A busy week on the SEA STAR III. Reef fishing was producing some Sea Bass, Keepers and shorts, as you would expect. We made an attempt at Fluke on opening day over in the Bay and had a couple of Fluke and a couple of Weakfish for our efforts but slow fishing overall. I suspect we will bounce back and forth between targeting Fluke and Sea Bass to be determined by weather and water temperature. It is still early in the season and we don’t know what to expect just yet. The Drumfish bite is still strong despite a couple of “Off Nights”. The SEA STAR III has open seats available for all remaining Drum trips, so Call to make your reservations TODAY! Don’t miss out, Only a couple of more weeks for the Prime Time Drumfish trips and we’ll say Good Bye to the Drumfish for another year! Anyhow, I will again leave you with more photos from this week’s action. I hope you enjoy viewing this report almost as much as we did making it!
